Nick Mangieri, PsyD

Dr. Nick Mangieri is a Postdoctoral Fellow at MBTW. He specializes in the intersection between trauma, attachment, and emotional and physical health.

Dr. Nick arned his Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) from Immaculata University in Pennsylvania, following his completion of a Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This academic foundation prepared him to integrate advanced psychological theory with specialized rehabilitation counseling, allowing him to address both mental health and complex physical and/or cognitive challenges. Dr. Mangieri has diverse clinical experience working with clients across the entire lifespan, with a distinct specialization in geriatric psychology and medical complexities.
Dr. Nick’s Therapy Approach
Approaching therapy with a warm, collaborative, and person-centered focus, Dr. Nick is recognized as an exceptionally kind clinician. He prioritizes building a genuine therapeutic relationship, working closely with clients to address their concerns in a supportive, non-judgmental space. By tailoring his approach to each individual's unique lived experience, Dr. Mangieri ensures that therapeutic interventions directly align with his clients' long-term goals and personal values.
In his clinical practice, Dr. Nick utilizes evidence-based treatment modalities, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Through CBT, he helps clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors to improve emotional regulation. Utilizing ACT, he guides clients in accepting difficult thoughts and feelings while committing to actions that enrich their lives and align with their core values. Additionally, Dr. Mangieri has completed extensive training in neuropsychological assessment, specializing in diagnostic evaluations for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
