Clinical Lead
Position Description: This full time, hybrid (in-person and online) position that combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the delivery of high quality client care while developing and supporting clinical staff. The Clinical Lead is part of the MBTW Leadership Team and reports to the Program Director.
The Clinical Lead averages between 30-35 hours per week and consists of a combination of direct clinical work with clients, direct and indirect work with MBTW clinicians and leadership, and administrative tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
Client Care
Gradual case load build to a minimum of 20-25 client contact hours (individual, couples, group) depending on other responsibilities
Be available two evenings (until 8pm) per week or one weekend day.
Conduct clinical interviews/assessments and develop tailored treatment plans.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Respond to clients’ requests for service or calls within two business days whether such requests are made in person, by phone, voicemail, etc. Respond to such requests by meeting, evaluating, and providing services to such clients.
Timely complete written records for each client including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by Mindbody Therapy & Wellness or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the patient within 48 hours.
Keep client files accurate and up to date.
Clinical Leadership and Supervision
Facilitate weekly team-based Clinical Consultation / Clinical Supervision meetings with the primary focus of supporting clinicians with direct client care.
Be the first point of contact for MBTW staff regarding clinical issues, including providing “as needed” individual clinical consultation upon request.
Determine when / if additional leadership support is required to make clinical decisions and collaborate with the Leadership team to implement support.
Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes through a combination of records review, supervision and consultation meetings, and contact with clients when indicated.
Provide direct feedback to clinicians regarding their clinical strengths and needs.
Maintain adequate documentation of Clinical Supervision and Clinical Consultation meetings, as well as clinical recommendations provided to clinicians.
If providing Clinical Supervision for licensing boards, complete all necessary paperwork for Associate licensed clinicians.
Collaborate with the Leadership Team to create and implement “quality assurance” protocols to uphold healthcare standards and compliance with all federal and state laws.
Staff Development
Participate in the on-boarding process for new clinical staff including: providing 1:1 support with learning documentation processes, offering direct observation and/or session co-facilitation as needed, ensuring attendance to Clinical Supervision and/or Clinical Consultation meetings, and other tasks as identified by the Leadership Team.
Coordinate a clinical mentorship program matching more experienced clinicians with newly hired team members.
Monitor clinicians’ progress and clinical competencies, collaborating with the Leadership Team as needed.
Remain up-to-date on the latest research and training opportunities in the field in order to provide guidance on complex clinical issues and make recommendations for clinicians to receive additional training or support in specific areas.
Facilitate ongoing professional development / continuing education for clinicians by creating and implementing “in house” training opportunities at least once per quarter. This may be done by collaborating with the Leadership Team, MBTW clinicians with specific areas of expertise, and/or working with individuals outside of MBTW to facilitate onsite trainings.
Project Management
Create and implement new clinical protocols and procedures in response to the needs of clients, clinicians, or the Leadership Team, and/or based on newly obtained information on best practices in the field.
Lead ongoing clinical improvement projects to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including guidelines from insurance companies.
Work with the Leadership Team on special projects as needed.
Requirements
2+ years full license in the State of North Carolina as a Licensed Psychologist, LCMHC, LCSW, or LMFT
Therapeutic niche or interest in developing a specialty (ex: EMDR, somatic psychotherapy, maternal mental health, trauma therapy, OCD treatment, couples therapy, etc)
Commitment to anti-racism and anti-oppression in clinical and personal practice
Passion for working with others (being collaborative) and helping our team members grow and learn.
HIGHLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL:
Have training in treating developmental and developmental trauma, PTSD, and complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, or interests in serving clients in this population
Trained in a at least one mind-body psychotherapy (i.e., Somatic Experiencing Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, mindfulness-based CBTs, Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, EMDR, somatic IFS), adjunct modality (i.e., yoga, expressive arts)
Have proven experience in clinical leadership and/or supervisory roles
Background in clinical education or training
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Some Considerations
If you plan to open your own practice in the next two years, that’s understandable, however please don’t apply or join us. We want therapists to commit being with us for 2 years so we can really build community and experience the benefits of consistent and regular consultation together.
Group practices are good fits for employees who who want a more communal and business support than what solo practice offers, and/or who are willing to give a portion of their insurance reimbursement to the group to take care of insurance verification, insurance claim filing, legal, marketing, advertising, business, and administrative requirements that operating a therapy practice requires.
